The law firm announced that Michael (Mike) Brueck is joining as an M&A partner in its New York office, a move aimed at boosting its already strong reputation in high-stakes real estate and infrastructure deals.

Brueck has built a career advising buyers, sellers, and corporate boards on some of the most complex public and private M&A transactions. His experience spans corporate governance, activism defense, and major real estate and infrastructure projects for both public companies and private equity clients.

Ropes & Gray Leadership Welcomes Mike Brueck

“We’re committed to bringing in the best—people who know our clients’ industries inside and out,” said Julie Jones, the firm’s chair. “Mike is a standout dealmaker with a track record of advising sophisticated clients on their most consequential transactions. His arrival is a major step forward as we grow our market-leading M&A practice in New York and beyond.”

Colleagues echoed the excitement. Chris Comeau, partner and head of the firm’s M&A practice, said Brueck shines in high-pressure deal environments. “As we steer our clients through the complexity of the current deal environment, Mike is a leader who will continue driving our momentum in key strategic areas for our firm,” he noted.

Jack Creedon, global co-head of Ropes & Gray’s real estate and infrastructure group, pointed out Brueck’s industry clout. “Mike has an unmatched track record advising on high-profile, top-of-the-market real estate and infrastructure transactions. His knowledge, network, commercial mindset, and collaborative instincts will strengthen the firm’s position in these key areas of focus in New York and around the world,” he said.

For his part, Brueck called the move a perfect fit. “I am proud and excited to join Ropes & Gray’s world-class M&A team in New York,” he said. “The continued expansion of the firm’s New York office presents a perfect opportunity to grow my practice and work with some of the industry’s most accomplished and collegial attorneys.”

Brueck isn’t alone. He’s one of several recent partner hires in the firm’s New York office, which now boasts more than 500 lawyers—more than double the headcount from a decade ago.
