PHOENIX — Erika Kirk has officially been named the new chief executive officer and chair of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), following the shocking death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
The announcement came on September 18, when TPUSA’s board unanimously voted Erika into the role. The decision wasn’t a surprise — the board revealed that Charlie had made his wishes clear long before his death, telling multiple executives that his wife should take over leadership if anything ever happened to him.
At just 36, Erika Kirk brings a mix of media, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial experience to the table. A former Miss Arizona USA and Liberty University graduate, she has been deeply connected to TPUSA since marrying Charlie in 2021. Beyond politics, she’s the CEO of Proclaim Streetwear and Bible in 365, and also works as a real estate agent at New York’s Corcoran Group.
In her first statement as CEO, Erika delivered an emotional vow to carry on her husband’s mission of energizing young conservatives. “You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife,” she said. “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
Her words come at a time when TPUSA is seeing a wave of momentum. Since Charlie’s death, the group says it has received more than 54,000 requests to launch new chapters, alongside a spike in student sign-ups. All eyes are now on the organization’s upcoming American Comeback Tour, which will play a central role in rallying young voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
A public memorial for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Thousands are expected to attend, including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
For TPUSA, Erika Kirk’s leadership represents both continuity and change. While her husband’s presence was synonymous with the organization for over a decade, Erika is stepping into the role with her own voice, her own style, and a pledge to expand TPUSA’s influence at a critical political moment.
